People can Change the World! (Part IV)

Teresa 2According with this new paradigm in management, the great challenge to the for profit organizations is how to reach the optimal level of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) in the three dimensions: economic, social and environmental.

To achieve this level, leaders should regard CSR not merely as an instrument to promote the corporate image to the main stakeholders, but as a strategy that provokes real social, environmental and economic change in the community where the organizations operate.

As a summary, we have here a table with the comparison between the two paradigms:

                     OLD PARADIGM                                           NEW PARADIGM

Paradigmas

We as individuals also have an important role in this changing process: we are consumers, we are employees, we are partners and we are leaders. If we are not satisfied with the system, we have the ability to change it, just like the social entrepreneurs …

So what kind of person are you?

Dare to be different, dare to act like a responsible citizen: Be a changing agent in your local community!

The three players: social entrepreneurs, CSR organizations and active citizens working together to bring social, environmental and economic value to the community will be the true foundation for sustainable development.
